OK - so I just wrote this long post then lost it all. Aaargh! In summary: This was our most beautiful ride if not a bit cold. I wore every shirt I packed. Lisa was prepared (of course!) and Katie kept her ears warm (hooray Katie!).
The second day of riding was the day my new saddle removed a chunk of skin from my inner thigh - searing pain that stayed with me the rest of the 20 miles till home. It would take another year before I'd finally figure out I needed a new saddle - Stella Italia all the way baby! Now I'm in heaven.
Important to remember this ride had the best food we've ever been served: I mistook one snack stop, with its pb&js and boiled eggs for lunch. Awesome.
60+ miles the first day. 30+ the second. So glad we did the 2nd day, it was the most beautiful part of the ride.
Saturday night, we watched the Comedy of Errors in the Blackfriars Playhouse in Staunton. Can't remember a thing about the play, but I do remember we enjoyed it and my legs were so happy to be sitting still!
Millions of pics here, and these are just from my phone. Lisa has a ton more on facebook so check those out too!
